"There’s a place that doesn’t get any love. It's the best deep dish I've had out there. It's called Exchequer and their deep dish is the best that I've had in town…. it's right there in downtown. The food's tremendous…. I’m trying to tell you how great the place is - they’ve got the best deep dish in town and they don’t even specialize in that. The wings are great, good beers on draught, a lot of IPAs..."

"This centrally located Loop spot is a favorite of locals, and has been for some time. After all, this family-run restaurant has been around since 1969. It was also once named as Roger Ebert’s favorite place for a slice of deep dish pie. While you can order just about any toppings on the popular pizza, one of the most popular combos is the deluxe, which comes stuffed with sausage, onions, mushrooms and green peppers. In addition to its deep dish, Exchequer is also known for its ribs."

Chicago Tribune Dining Guide – Deep Dish Award
"'I love Chicago pizza in all its incarnations. I love the cracker thin variety, the double dough and yes, the deep dish. Exchequer does a wonderful deep dish. It has the proper foreboding thud of something that could possibly end you, but the surprising lightness of crust that deep dishes I like best have. The vegetables taste fresh and the cheese is both generous and gooey, as it should be. I usually reserve my deep dish delving for when out of towners are in town, so it’s always a treat coming to Exchequer. It’s less crowded with a fun atmosphere and nearby to Union Station so everyone can toddle on home after some time for digestion. Exchequer may not be the inventor of the pie, but it certainly produces a great one—one that won't have you waiting in the cold."'
